Dr. Gharib is a Senior Researcher at the Horticulture Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Giza, Egypt.

She holds a PhD Degree in Vegetable Crops from the Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, and a Master's degree in Horticulture from the Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Egypt.

She is a vegetable breeder and a member of several national and international projects dealing with the improvement of vegetable crops using breeding, agronomic, and biotechnological approaches. She is currently responsible for cantaloupe breeding program in the National program for Vegetable Seeds Production in Egypt, her work focuses on breeding for resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses in Cucurbitaceae varieties.   

She is publishing in several international journal publications and international conferences. She co-supervises several students for their Ph.D. degrees.

During her professional career, Dr. Gharib improved her skill by participating in many training courses in Turkey, China, Uganda, Kenya, the Netherland, Nepal and Egypt.
