Dr. Ellouzi is an Assistant Researcher in plant biology at the Laboratory of Extremophile Plants at the Center of Biotechnology of Borj Cedria, Tunisia. She holds a Ph.D. in plant biology and has conducted research in environmental signals, which is essentially the study of stress-memory. She has believed for a long time that plants are intelligent and can recall stressful information of their biotopes.
During her thesis, she conducted many pieces of training in Spain at the University of Barcelona (UB) and in France at the University of Western Brittany Brest (UBO). For her, these collaborations opened the doors to step into a new world and new experiences, which offered her the opportunity to valorize her researches by publishing several papers leading her to get a doctorate in 2014.
Outside her research, Dr. Ellouzi enjoys farming, and her child takes up a lot of her attention. Outside of her family, she believes that women are for the best future; for this reason, she is trying to share her knowledge as a scientist and agricultural woman with female farmers suffering the consequence of social and economic problems. To all those Women, Dr. Ellouzi says: “Let us go deep in our dreams and believe that you are AWLA!”
